Okay, so, I’ve been wanting to get some new golf pants for a while now. I finally decided to pull the trigger and try out some of those PGA Tour ones I kept seeing advertised.
Getting Started
First off, I started looking around online, just to get an idea of prices and styles. Browsing around different shops, I noticed there were tons of options, like, seriously a lot. You got your flat front, your double pleated, even some slim fit ones which, let’s be honest, I’m not sure I can pull off anymore.
I saw prices ranging from like thirty bucks all the way up to over eighty. Sheesh. I mean, they’re just pants, right? But, I guess you gotta pay for the brand name, and apparently, something about them is “performance.”
Narrowing it Down
After browsing, I kind of had an idea of what I was looking for. I wanted something simple, not too flashy. A solid color, definitely. Maybe gray or navy blue. And they had to be comfortable. I’m not trying to feel constricted when I’m trying to swing.
The Search
So, I decided to head over to a couple of stores. I checked out a department store, and I think I tried on every single pair they had in my size. The “active waistband” was a nice touch, I guess. They felt okay, but nothing really stood out to me. Some were too tight, others too baggy, and honestly, the fabric on some just felt cheap, even though they were like fifty bucks.
Trying Them Out
I also noticed most of them seemed to be made of polyester. I did a little digging, and it turns out that’s pretty common for sportswear now. Apparently, it’s supposed to be breathable and wick away moisture. Makes sense, I guess, especially for golf when you’re out in the sun all day. But some of them were really light, almost felt like I had nothing on.
One of the PGA TOUR pants I tried had this “moisture-wicking” thing. I’m not really sure how to test that out in the store, but they felt pretty airy. I did a few practice swings in the fitting room, and they didn’t feel restrictive at all.
Making the Purchase
After hitting a few more stores and trying on what felt like a million pairs of pants, I finally found a pair that I liked. They were a simple, flat-front style, dark gray, and they felt really comfortable. They weren’t too tight, not too loose, just right. Plus, they were on sale, which is always a bonus. They ended up costing me around 35 bucks. Not bad, considering some of the other ones I saw.
Final Thoughts
- Purchase: Finally bought a pair after trying on a bunch.
- Price: Got them on sale for about $35.
- Style: Flat-front, dark gray. Simple and classic.
- Comfort: These feel great. Not too tight, not too loose.
- Material: Polyester, which seems to be the norm now. Supposed to be breathable.
So yeah, that’s my experience with buying PGA Tour pants. It took a while, but I’m happy with what I ended up with. Now, I just gotta get out on the course and see how they actually perform. Hopefully, they live up to the hype.
