Okay, so the other day I found myself going down a bit of an internet rabbit hole. The name Cris Collinsworth came up, you know, the announcer guy. And somehow, the topic of his wife and cancer popped into my head. Maybe I saw a comment somewhere, maybe I misheard something, I don’t really recall exactly how it started.

Anyway, curiosity got the better of me. I figured, let me just look this up quickly. So, I sat down at my computer, opened up the browser, you know the drill.
My Search Process
I started punching in the obvious things into the search bar:
- cris collinsworth wife cancer
- holly collinsworth health update
- cris collinsworth family illness
I clicked through the first few pages of results. Lots of stuff came up, naturally. Plenty about Cris himself, his broadcasting career, his kids, especially Jac Collinsworth who’s also on TV. Saw lots of pictures of him and his wife, Holly Bankemper, at events. They seem like a solid couple, been married a long time.
But here’s the thing: I spent a good amount of time scrolling, reading snippets from various sites – news articles, sports forums, even some gossip-type places.
What I Found (or Didn’t)
Honestly? I came up pretty empty on the cancer front. I couldn’t find any reliable source, like a major news report or an official statement from the family, confirming that Holly Collinsworth has or had cancer. There was plenty about Cris Collinsworth being supportive of various causes, sometimes health-related, but nothing specific about his wife facing that battle.
It made me wonder if maybe I’d mixed things up, or if it was just an unfounded rumor floating around online. You know how easily that stuff spreads. One person mentions something, someone else repeats it, and suddenly it seems like a fact when it isn’t.
It also got me thinking about public figures and their privacy. Just because someone’s on TV doesn’t mean every detail of their family’s health needs to be public knowledge. If they choose to share, that’s one thing. If not, searching for it feels a bit… I don’t know, intrusive maybe?
So yeah, my little search session didn’t really confirm the initial thought. Found lots about the Collinsworth family in general, but nothing concrete about Holly and cancer. It was just a reminder that you can’t believe everything you read online and sometimes there’s just no information to find because there’s nothing to report, or it’s being kept private, which is perfectly okay.
That was my little dive into that topic. Just thought I’d share the process.
