Well now, let me tell ya ’bout Tim Wakefield’s kids, Trevor and Brianna. Tim, he was a big ol’ baseball player for the Red Sox, and everybody ’round here knows him. He spent near 30 years with the team, bless his heart. Tim and his wife Stacy, they raised two good kids, a boy named Trevor and a girl called Brianna Grace. They ain’t little anymore, mind ya, but they sure were when their daddy was still around.
Now, Tim and Stacy, they met back in Massachusetts, long ‘fore they had them children. It was November 9, 2002, when they got hitched. It wasn’t long after that they had their firstborn, Trevor, in 2004, and then along came Brianna a year later in 2005. So, they had themselves a nice little family. Not too big, but plenty to love, y’know?
Life wasn’t always easy for the Wakefields, but they stuck together. Tim, he was busy with baseball, always travelin’ for games and such. But Stacy, she was right there by his side, raising them kids with all the love in the world. I reckon it ain’t easy, but she made it look so, so effortless. She even kept up with visits to sick kids in the hospital ‘til the very end of her life. A real strong lady, Stacy was.
Now, a lot of folks know that Tim passed away back in October, after he fought a battle with cancer. It was a sad time for the Red Sox family and for the whole town. But what really hurt folks was when Stacy passed not too long after that, in February. Just like that, Trevor and Brianna lost both their parents. It’s enough to break a heart, but them two kids, they’re stronger than that. The Red Sox, they did a whole ceremony in Tim’s honor at Fenway Park, and folks were sayin’ how proud they were of Tim and Stacy’s kids. It’s a hard thing, losing your mama and daddy, but them kids, they got each other, and that’s somethin’ to hold onto.
Trevor, well he’s the older one. He’s been carryin’ himself like a man ever since his daddy passed. You can tell he’s learned a lot from Tim. Brianna, she’s a tough little thing, too. She even threw the first pitch at Fenway Park on Opening Day, and folks couldn’t help but smile at that. It was a reminder of where she came from, and how she’s carryin’ on her daddy’s legacy. The whole town, they’re real proud of her, and Trevor too, for keepin’ strong through all this hurt.
It ain’t just the family and friends of the Wakefields that feel the loss, but the whole Red Sox nation. Tim was a hero to many, and Stacy, well, she was a hero in her own right for all the good she did. And even though they’re both gone, their kids are carryin’ on the family name, and that’s somethin’ special. It’s like the saying goes, the apple don’t fall far from the tree. Trevor and Brianna got so much of their parents in ’em, and folks are gonna remember that for a long time.
Even though they ain’t around no more, Tim and Stacy Wakefield’s kids are gonna be alright. They got the love of their parents and the support of their Red Sox family, and that’s gonna get ’em through whatever comes next. The road’s gonna be tough sometimes, but as long as they got each other, they’ll be just fine.
