Alright, guys, so I’ve been messing around with Starfield lately, and let me tell you, the ship customization is pretty sweet. But I hit a wall – I wanted all the parts, like, every single one, available right from the start. No grinding, no level restrictions, just pure creative freedom. So, I dug in and figured out how to make it happen. Here’s the lowdown:

First, I poked around online, checked out some forums and stuff. There were hints, but nothing concrete, and it just was not satisfactory. Seemed like everyone was just talking about mods, not actually making them. I wanted something practical, something I could sink my teeth into.
Then it hit me – console commands! Starfield, like other Bethesda games, has a console you can access to tweak things. It’s like a secret developer’s playground.
The Experiment
I fired up the game, hopped into my ship (or rather, a sad-looking starter ship), and opened the console. The key to open it is usually the tilde key (~) – it’s that squiggly line next to the number 1 on your keyboard.
Important Note: I saved my game before doing any of this! Just in case things went sideways. Always a good idea when messing with console commands.
I started typing in commands, mostly guesses at first. I figured there had to be a command to unlock stuff, and it started to work. I typed and tested:

- * 99
Boom! I thought it would work, but the ship parts were still not unlocked. I tried this to see if the part unlock issue was related to the level.
- showallquests
It didn’t do anything useful.
- I typed: help “ship part” 4 (I changed a bit of the command found on the network that I saw during my research.
The console spit back a TON of information. Codes, names, all sorts of stuff I didn’t understand. But it was progress! It meant the game recognized ship parts as something I could mess with.
The “Aha!” Moment
After a lot of trial and error, and I mean a lot of errors. It turns out that just adjusting your level is not enough. The key is that you need to get your piloting skills up to be able to use all parts, too.
So, a more comprehensive solution is to just give yourself a ton of levels to play with to unlock enough skills to get the ship parts to be available.

Final Word
I changed my level and now I’ve got the ship of my dreams, cobbled together from every part imaginable. It’s probably a monstrosity, but it’s my monstrosity. And that’s the beauty of modding, right? Making the game your own. Now go forth and build some crazy spaceships!
