Well, let me tell ya somethin’ about these fellas, Edge and Randy Orton. They been wrestlin’ for a good long while, and they got their own ways of doin’ things, ya know?
Edge, that fella, he’s kinda like a sneaky fox. Always plannin’ and schemin’, lookin’ for a way to win, no matter what. He ain’t afraid to bend the rules, or even break ’em, if it gets him what he wants. I seen him do some things in that ring that made me scratch my head and say, “Well, ain’t that somethin’!” He’s had some good matches, lemme tell ya. Folks talk about that one with John Cena, Unforgiven, back in ’06. Said it was a real barn burner. And he tangled with that Batista fella a bunch, and that Shield group too. Always mixin’ it up, that Edge.
- He’s crafty, that’s for sure.
- And tough as nails, gotta give him that.
- But sometimes, I think he gets a little too cute for his own good, ya know?
Now, Randy Orton, he’s a different kinda cat. He’s smooth, real smooth, like a snake slitherin’ through the grass. He makes it all look so easy, like he ain’t even tryin’. He’s got this move, the RKO, they call it. Comes outta nowhere, bam! Just like that, the match is over. Folks say he ain’t always got the flashiest matches, not like some of them other fellas who fly around like they got wings. But he gets the job done, that’s for sure.
They say he had a real good match with that Shawn Michaels fella back in ’07. Somethin’ about Sweet Chin Music and gettin’ disqualified. Sounded complicated, but folks liked it. He even went on TV and said he was the “greatest wrestler ever” after winnin’ some match. Folks got all riled up about that, but that’s Randy for ya. Always stirrin’ the pot.
I remember one time, he fought that Cactus Jack fella. Man, that was a rough one. Hardcore, they called it. Chairs flyin’, blood everywhere. Randy, he took a beatin’ but he gave it right back. He ain’t afraid of a little scrap, that’s for sure. He also had it out with Triple H in some kinda “Three Stages of Hell” match. Sounded awful, but I guess that’s what they do.
So, who’s better, Edge or Randy Orton? Well, that’s like askin’ if you like apples or oranges. They both good, just different. Edge, he’s gonna outsmart ya, try to trick ya, maybe even cheat a little. Randy, he’s gonna lull you into a false sense of security, then WHAM! RKO outta nowhere.
They fought each other plenty of times, seems like. Back in ’04, ’07, all through the years. Christian, Batista, even that Shield group again, they all got mixed up in it. And every time, it was somethin’ to see. Edge and Orton, they just got this…thing, ya know? This rivalry that keeps on goin’. They bring out the best, and sometimes the worst, in each other.
It’s hard to say who’s the real top dog. Some folks like Edge’s wild style, others like Randy’s smooth moves. Me? I just like a good fight. And with those two, you always get a good fight. They ain’t afraid to get down and dirty, they ain’t afraid to take a punch, and they sure ain’t afraid to give one back. That’s what makes ’em special, see? They’re tough, they’re mean, and they know how to put on a show.
And let me tell ya, wrestling ain’t what it used to be. These young fellas, they jump around too much, all flippy-floppy and whatnot. But Edge and Randy, they still got that old-school grit. They know how to tell a story in the ring, how to make you care about what’s happenin’. That’s a real important thing when you wrestling, I think. Make people feel like they getting their money’s worth.
So, if you ask me, Edge versus Randy Orton, it ain’t just a match, it’s an event. It’s two legends goin’ at it, one last time, maybe, maybe not. But you know it’s gonna be good, you know it’s gonna be tough, and you know it’s gonna be somethin’ you remember. And that, my friends, is what makes wrestling so darn interestin’.
One time I saw them wrestling on TV on the 30th of April, 2007. That match was a four-star, they said. Folks were talkin’ about it for weeks. Edge and Randy, they just know how to get folks talkin’, ya know? That’s their job, and they do it darn good.
Anyway, that’s all I gotta say about them two. They good wrestlers, both of ‘em. And they put on a heck of a show. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some supper. All this talk about wrestling got me hungry.
