Alright, let’s talk about this Tricia Cullop and her money, you know, the salary thing. I heard folks jabbering about it, so I figured I’d try and make sense of it for ya.
So, this Tricia, she’s the coach, the head coach, for the women’s basketball team at the, uh, University of Toledo. Yeah, that’s right, the Rockets. Now, they say she’s pretty good at her job, winnin’ games and all that. But what I really wanted to know, and what probably most of you wanna know too, is how much money she’s makin’.
Well, from what I gather, and mind you, it’s like piecin’ together a quilt from scraps, they went and gave her a new contract, see? This new deal keeps her around till, what, 2029 or 2030? That’s a long spell, ain’t it? She must be doin’ somethin’ right. But that ain’t the end of the story, no sirree.
Now, this is where it gets interestin’. Last year, they say she was gettin’ somethin’ like $280,000. That’s a whole lotta money, more than I ever seen in my life, I tell ya. And she was supposed to get a little bit more this year, $290,000, they said. But then, boom! They give her a new contract, and now she’s gonna be makin’ even more.
They’re givin’ her $360,000 next season, just for coachin’! Can you believe that? But wait, there’s more! They’re also gonna give her an extra $40,000 for doin’ some marketin’ stuff. So, when you add it all up, she’s lookin’ at $400,000 a year. My goodness, that’s enough to buy a whole farm, maybe two!
- So, let’s recap:
- Old salary: Around $280,000 or $290,000.
- New base salary: $360,000.
- Marketing bonus: $40,000.
- Total new salary: $400,000.
Now, I ain’t sayin’ she don’t deserve it. Like I said, they say she’s a good coach, wins games and all that. And I reckon coachin’ those young’uns ain’t easy. But $400,000? That’s a powerful lot of money. Makes you wonder how much those fellas coachin’ the men’s teams are makin’, eh?
And you know, they also signed that Tod Kowalczyk guy, the men’s coach, to a new deal too. Same length as Tricia’s, through 2026 or 2027 or somethin’ like that. But they ain’t sayin’ how much he’s makin’. Hmph, they keep some things secret, I guess. But you can bet your bottom dollar it’s a pretty penny too.
Anyway, this Tricia, she’s got herself a good deal, that’s for sure. Four hundred thousand dollars a year. That’s enough to keep her in grits and gravy for a long, long time. And good for her, I say. If they’re willin’ to pay it, and she’s bringin’ in the wins, then I guess it’s all fair and square. But still, $400,000… That’s just a mind-boggling number for an old gal like me.
So there ya have it, the lowdown on Tricia Cullop’s salary. It’s a whole heap of money, but I guess that’s the goin’ rate for a good coach these days. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some supper. All this talk about money’s made me hungry.
