Okay, so I’ve been digging into this whole Neal Shipley and his caddie thing, and let me tell you, it’s been a bit of a rabbit hole. This guy, Neal Shipley, popped up on my radar because he’s been making some waves in the golf world. He’s a young American golfer, apparently born around 2001, which makes him, what, early twenties? Fresh out of college, maybe?
So, I started with the basics. Typed “Neal Shipley” into Google. Boom. First thing I see is that he’s from Pittsburgh. Alright, cool. Then, I noticed he was the “low amateur” at the 2024 Masters and the 2024 U.S. Open. Now, I’m not a huge golf fanatic, but even I know those are big deals. That’s like, the Super Bowl and… another Super Bowl of golf.
Then I started seeing these tags – “Amateur,” “James.” Initially, I thought maybe “James” was his middle name, then I found that is his last name. I dug a little deeper. Turns out, this Shipley guy was a pretty big deal in the amateur golf scene before he went pro this year, 2024. There are pictures of him everywhere – tall dude, long hair. You wouldn’t miss him on the course.
Finding the Caddie
But here’s where it gets interesting – the caddie. Everyone’s talking about this Carter Pitcairn guy. Apparently, he’s Shipley’s current caddie. So naturally, I went down another path: “Who is Carter Pitcairn?”
Not a whole lot out there about this guy, at least not as much as Shipley. But it seems like they’ve been a pair for a while, especially considering Shipley just turned pro. They must have a good thing going, especially with Shipley’s success at those big tournaments.

So, that’s where I’m at. I’ve pieced together that Neal Shipley is a name to watch in golf, and Carter Pitcairn is the guy helping him carry his clubs and, presumably, offering advice and support along the way. I’ll keep digging, though. There’s gotta be more to their story. Maybe they’ll do an interview together soon, or maybe I’ll have to start following them on social media to get the real scoop.
