Okay, folks, let’s dive into my experience with the June Monthly Awards in MLB The Show 23.
I started by firing up the game, obviously. I’d been looking forward to this all month, hoping to snag some sweet new cards.
Diving into the Program
First thing I did was check out the new Monthly Awards program. It’s usually pretty straightforward – you gotta complete moments, missions, and sometimes an online event to earn progress.
- I tackled the moments first. These are usually quick, little gameplay scenarios, like “hit a home run with this player” or “strike out two batters in a row.” Some were easy, some were a bit of a pain, especially the ones with specific players I wasn’t used to.
- Next up, I moved on to the missions. These are a bit more of a grind. You gotta accumulate stats with players from the featured month – in this case, June. So, I spent a good chunk of time playing games, trying to rack up hits, home runs, strikeouts, and whatever else was needed.
- Parallel XP missions, which I love, are simple, just earn p-xp with Topps Now and Monthly Awards cards!
- I even jumped into the event for a bit. It’s usually a limited-time online mode with specific team-building requirements. Honestly, I’m not the best online player, so I mostly just tried to get the participation rewards and get out.
Collecting the Rewards
As I completed the moments and missions, I started earning program stars. These stars unlock rewards along the program path, including player cards, packs, stubs (the in-game currency), and other goodies.
I was really gunning for the top-tier player rewards, the ones that are usually at the end of the program path. I grinded for a full day, and that’s all she wrote, the featured cards were mine!
It was a bit of a grind, but it was all good fun. I ended up with a much stronger team, and few cards I really needed!
