Okay, let’s talk about getting those games in MLB The Show 23 moving a bit faster. I found myself spending a good chunk of time just watching the little in-between pitch stuff, especially when I was deep into a Franchise season or grinding in Road to the Show. It’s cool sometimes, but other times, I just wanted to get to the next pitch, you know?

Finding the Faster Pace
So, I started digging around. I figured there had to be a way to trim some of the fat off the game time. Fired up the game, went straight to the main menu.
From there, I navigated over to the Settings option. It’s usually got that little gear icon, pretty standard stuff.
Once I clicked into Settings, there were a bunch of choices. I scanned through them, looking for something related to gameplay speed or presentation. I landed on Gameplay.
Inside the Gameplay settings, there’s another layer of options. I had to look closely, but then I spotted a section, I think it was labeled Presentation or something similar. It deals with how the game looks and flows, not just the core mechanics.
Flipping the Switch
And right there, clear as day, was the option: Quick Pitch. It was just a simple toggle, On or Off. It was Off by default, so I just clicked it to switch it On.
That was pretty much it for the setup part. Simple toggle, buried a couple of menus deep.
Trying It Out
With Quick Pitch enabled, I jumped into an exhibition game just to see how it felt. The difference was immediate.
- The pitcher gets the ball back and is ready on the rubber almost instantly.
- Batters don’t step out nearly as often for those little adjustment animations.
- The time between pitches felt cut down significantly.
Honestly, it felt a bit weird at first. I was so used to that little breather between pitches. But after an inning or two, I got into the rhythm. It really does make the game flow much, much faster. You just get pitch after pitch after pitch, keeping the action going.
Now, when I’m trying to get through multiple games in a session, especially in modes like Franchise or RTTS where you play tons of games, I leave Quick Pitch turned On. It saves a surprising amount of time over the course of a full game or season. Sometimes, if I’m playing a friend or want the full dramatic effect of a big playoff game, I might turn it off again, but for general play? It stays on. Makes grinding way less tedious.
So yeah, that was my process. Just dug into the gameplay presentation settings and flipped that Quick Pitch switch. Makes a big difference if you want faster games.
