Alright, let’s talk about this journey to 83.9 kg. It all started a few months ago, I looked in the mirror and I just was not happy with what I saw. I was way too comfortable. My belly had this annoying overhang, and my face had gotten so puffy. It was time for a change, no more excuses.
Deciding to make a change
I knew I had to do something about it. I got myself a scale and a measuring tape. Hopped on that scale. Boom, 95 kg. I measured my waistline, chest, and arms. I wrote everything down in a little notebook. This was my starting point. I was determined to see those numbers go down.
Starting my routine
- First thing, I started tracking what I eat. Nothing fancy, just wrote down everything I ate in a day. It was eye-opening, I was eating way too much junk.
- Next, I started going for a walk every day. Just 30 minutes at first. Then I slowly started adding more time and even tried jogging a bit.
- Cut out sugary drinks. This was tough, but I swapped soda for water. It was hard at first, but I got used to it.
- Started lifting some weights at home. I had some old dumbbells lying around. I did some basic exercises like bicep curls and squats.
Keeping up with the progress
Every week, I would weigh myself and take my measurements again. It was super motivating to see the numbers go down. I mean, the first few weeks, I lost like 2 kg. That felt amazing. I kept at it, making sure to stick to my routine.
I had some bad days, of course. Days when I just wanted to eat a whole pizza and not move from the couch. But I pushed through. I kept reminding myself why I started in the first place.
Making adjustments
- Increased my workout intensity. I started going to the gym. I got a simple workout plan from a friend who’s a personal trainer.
- Adjusted my diet. I started eating more protein and veggies. I learned to cook some healthy meals. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be.
- Made sure I was getting enough sleep. I noticed I had more energy and felt less hungry when I got a good night’s rest.
Staying consistent
This was the hardest part. Staying consistent. But I knew that slow and steady wins the race. I kept tracking my progress, kept pushing myself in my workouts, and kept making better food choices.
There were times when the scale didn’t move much, or I felt like I wasn’t making any progress. But I didn’t give up. I knew that plateaus happen, and I just had to keep going.
Seeing results
Finally, after months of hard work, I stepped on the scale today and saw it. 83.9 kg. I could not believe it. I had to double-check. I measured my waist, it was significantly smaller. My clothes fit better. I felt better, had more energy, and looked healthier. My face was less puffy. I felt like a new person.
Keeping it off
This is not the end of the journey, though. Now it is all about maintaining this weight. I am going to keep up with my workouts and healthy eating. I have learned so much about my body and what it needs.
This whole experience has been a rollercoaster, but it was totally worth it. I feel so much better about myself. It is not just about the number on the scale, it is about feeling healthy and strong. And I am proud of myself for sticking with it.
