Well, let me tell you somethin’ about this RTTS program stars thing in that baseball game, MLB The Show. My grandson, he’s always playin’ it. He tried to explain it to me, but it’s all a bit much for this old gal. But I’ll tell ya what I gathered.
Seems like these program stars are like… little prizes you get for doin’ stuff in the game. Like, if you win, you get a star. If ya hit the ball real good, you get a star. My grandson, he’s always yellin’ about gettin’ these stars.
And then, this Road to the Show thing. Sounds like a journey, don’t it? Well, from what I understand, the more you play, the better you get. You swing that bat and hit that ball, and you get better at it. You pitch that ball and strike ’em out, you get better at that, too. It’s like in real life, ain’t it? Practice makes perfect, or somethin’ like that. They increase your ratings all the way up to 50, so it is like perfect.
- You play good, you get better.
- You get these stars.
- Then you get… rewards?
My grandson, he says somethin’ about “skill sets.” Now, that sounds fancy. But it’s just like learnin’ new tricks, I reckon. You do good in the game, you complete these “missions” and “challenges” – sounds like chores to me – and you get these new skills. And these skills, they make you even better at the game. It is like you can be a brand new player if you have the right skillset. It’s a bit like learnin’ to knit a new pattern, I suppose. Gotta keep track of your… “performance stats,” he says. Whatever those are.
Now, these program stars, they ain’t just for show. You can use ’em to get stuff in the game. “Rewards,” they call ’em. Like openin’ presents, I guess. You go to some “Programs” place in the game’s menu, and you trade in your stars for these rewards. My grandson, he gets all excited about these rewards. He said that there are different programs like Starter program and WBC program, but I don’t know what he is talking about. Sounds like those things on TV. He also told me that the main program is based on something called xp, but that went over my head. I just know that if he finishes his “moments” and “missions”, he gets his stars.
He’s always talkin’ about playin’ as a “CF.” Center field, I think he said. He wants to be like those big baseball stars on TV, I reckon. This is the first time I heard about this game, and it is a little complicated.
This whole thing, it’s a bit much for an old lady like me. But I try to keep up with what my grandson’s doin’. He’s a good boy, even if he does spend too much time with that game. But hey, it keeps him outta trouble, right?
Anyway, that’s all I know about these RTTS program stars. You play the game, you get stars, you get better, you get rewards. It’s all a bit like life, ain’t it? You work hard, you get rewarded. Just a lot more… complicated.
I remember back in my day, we didn’t have these fancy video games. We played outside, in the dirt. We made our own games. We didn’t need no program stars to have fun. But times change, I guess. And these kids today, they seem to enjoy these games. So who am I to judge?
Just hope my grandson don’t spend all his time in front of that screen. He needs to get some fresh air, some sunshine. Maybe help his old grandma in the garden. That’s a good way to earn some real-life rewards, if you ask me.
Well, I reckon that’s enough of my ramblin’. This old lady’s got chores to do. Gotta tend to my chickens, you know. They don’t care about no program stars. They just want their feed. And that’s somethin’ I understand. A good, honest day’s work. That’s what it’s all about, ain’t it? Even if these young folks don’t always see it that way.
Maybe I should ask my grandson to teach me how to play that game. Might be fun to earn some of them program stars myself. Show these young whippersnappers how it’s done. Wouldn’t that be a hoot? But then again, I got my garden to tend to. And my chickens. And… well, you know. An old lady’s work is never done.
These games they got now, though, land sakes, they sure are somethin’. Back in my day, all we had was hopscotch and jump rope. Kids today with their fancy gadgets… But I guess if it makes ’em happy. My grandson, bless his heart, he’s always tryin’ to explain it to me. This RTTS program stars business. Says it’s like collectin’ stamps, but in a game. You do good, you get these stars. Like gettin’ a gold star in school, I suppose. And these stars, they get you somethin’ in the game. He’s always goin’ on about it.
