Alright, listen up, y’all. We’re gonna talk about this here baseball game, the one with the Houston fellas and them San Francisco Giants. I ain’t no fancy expert or nothin’, but I watched the game, and I can tell ya what I saw. So don’t expect no big words or nothin’, just plain talk, ya hear?
First off, them Houston Astros, they got some good players, I reckon. That Altuve fella, he’s quick as a rabbit, always runnin’ around. And that Alvarez, he hits the ball a country mile sometimes. But sometimes, they just can’t seem to get it together, you know? They ground out, they strike out, it’s like they forgot how to play.
Now, them San Francisco Giants, they ain’t too shabby neither. This Slater guy, he’s a real firecracker. He got the winnin’ hit in one game, and he had a bunch of hits in another. Seemed like he was everywhere, hittin’ the ball, runnin’ the bases, causin’ all sorts of trouble for the Astros. And that Dubn fella, he ain’t bad either, got some good hits himself.
I saw one game where the Giants beat the Astros, somethin’ like 4 to 3. It was a close one, had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. Another game, the Giants won again, 5 to 3 that time. Slater, he was the star of that game, hittin’ and runnin’ like a wild man. The Astros, they tried their best, but they just couldn’t keep up with them Giants that day.
It’s funny how these games go, you know? One day, a team looks like they can’t be beat, and the next day, they look like they couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn. That’s baseball for ya, I guess. It ain’t always pretty, but it sure is entertainin’.
- Astros got some good hitters, like Altuve and Alvarez, but they ain’t always consistent.
- Giants got Slater, who’s a real good player, and Dubn, who can hit the ball too.
- Giants beat the Astros in a couple of games I saw, one by 4 to 3 and another by 5 to 3.
- Baseball’s a funny game, one day you’re up, the next day you’re down.
I heard tell that some fella named Willie Mays, he played a whole heap of games for the Giants, thousands of ’em. That’s a lot of baseball, I tell ya. Another fella, Mel Ott, he played a bunch too, but not as many as Mays. Shows ya, some fellas just got that stick-to-itiveness, they keep goin’ and goin’.
So, if you’re askin’ me who’s better, the Astros or the Giants, well, I can’t rightly say. They both got good players, they both got bad days. It all depends on who shows up to play on any given day. Sometimes the Astros bats get cold, can’t hit nothin’. Other times, the Giants pitching ain’t worth a lick. That’s why they play the games, I reckon, to see who comes out on top.
And that attendance, they said it was over 32,000 for one game! That’s a whole lotta people watchin’ them fellas run around. The game took about two hours and forty-six minutes. Not too long, not too short, just about right for a good ball game, I’d say. I like a game that moves along, gets to the point, you know? Don’t want to be sittin’ there all day watchin’ them twiddle their thumbs.
Head-to-head stats, they call ’em, that’s how you figure out who’s been doin’ better over time. Regular season, playoffs, championships, they look at all that stuff. I don’t keep track of all that fancy stuff myself, but I know some folks do, and it helps ‘em figure out who to bet on, I guess. Me, I just watch the game and see what happens. Can’t predict the future, no sir.
They even got these things called predictions and odds, tryin’ to figure out who’s gonna win before the game even starts. And lineups, they tell ya who’s gonna be playin’ what position. And then there’s H2H stats, whatever that means. And winning tips! Like someone can tell ya how to win, ha! It’s all just guessin’, if you ask me. But some folks like to do their homework, I guess. Me, I just like to watch the boys play ball.
