Well, let me tell ya ’bout this Jimmy Buffett fella and that there Citizens Bank Park. I ain’t never been to one of them fancy concerts myself, mind you. Too much fuss and bother for this old lady. But I hear tell of it, you know? Folks in town, they go on and on ’bout this Jimmy and his singin’.
Jimmy Buffett at Citizens Bank Park, what’s the big deal?
Seems like he’s been playin’ at that there park for a good long while now. They say he was there way back in 2005, and then again in 2008. Folks get all excited, talkin’ ’bout the “setlist.” Don’t rightly know what that is, but sounds important. They keep track of all the songs he sings, like it’s some kinda big secret or somethin’. They say he sang “Fruitcakes” once, way back when. And some fella named Sonny Landreth, he played with him too, a “special guest” they called him. Sounded mighty fancy.
- 2005 was a big year for Jimmy at Citizens Bank Park. He played there twice, August 25th and 27th.
- They even named his tour somethin’ special, “A Salty Piece of Land Tour.” Guess he likes the ocean, that Jimmy.
- Then he came back in 2008, June 14th this time. Folks lined up, I bet, just to hear him sing. Said it was his third time playin’ at that park. Must be a nice place, that Citizens Bank Park.
- And there was another show on August 27th, but I can’t remember which year that was, getting old you see. Anyways, folks get all riled up about this concert stuff. Always talkin’ bout it weeks before.
They say if you wanted to get tickets early, you had to be a “Phillies season ticket holder.” Them Phillies, that’s the baseball team, I think. Don’t follow that stuff myself. Too much runnin’ around and hittin’ balls for my taste. But if you had them tickets, you could go to some website and buy Jimmy’s tickets before everyone else. Clever, them ticket fellas are.
Can’t make it to the show? There’s other ways to listen to Jimmy.
Now, if you couldn’t make it to the show, seems like you could still listen to it. They got this thing called “*” and “*.” And there’s the radio too, “Radio Margaritaville” on somethin’ called “Sirius/XM.” Sounds like a bunch of gibberish to me, but the young folks, they understand it. They can listen to Jimmy singin’ no matter where they are. And if they miss it live, they can listen to it later, on somethin’ they call “on demand.” Ain’t that somethin’? Technology these days, it’s just amazin’.
Jimmy Buffett Concerts: More than Just Music
So, this Jimmy Buffett, he seems like a big deal at that Citizens Bank Park. Folks keep comin’ back to hear him, year after year. Must be somethin’ special about his singin’. Maybe it reminds them of the ocean, or maybe it just makes ’em happy. Don’t rightly know. But one thing’s for sure, that Citizens Bank Park, it’s the place to be if you want to hear Jimmy Buffett sing his songs. That’s what folks say, anyway.
