Alright, let’s talk about this Davon Jacobs fella, eh? Sounds like a strong young man, 6-2 and 185 pounds, they say. A real “athlete” from some place called Wayne. Don’t know where that is, but sounds fancy.
Now, they got all this talk about his “athlete profile” on some website, * they call it. Sounds like a bunch of hooey to me, but I guess folks like to keep track of these things. They got his “playing career” and “statistics” on there. Statistics, huh? Like how many times he threw a ball or somethin’? Back in my day, we just played, didn’t need no fancy numbers.
This boy plays football, they say. A “Defensive Back,” whatever that means. Probably means he stops the other fellas from runnin’ around too much. Good for him, keeping things in order. They got “current football statistics” for him too. Like I said, all these numbers… But I guess it matters to some folks, so good on him for havin’ good numbers, I reckon.

- He’s 185 pounds, sounds strong enough.
- He’s from Wayne, wherever that is.
- He plays football, and he’s a “Defensive Back.”
- They got all sorts of numbers and stats about him on that there website.
Now, they was talkin’ about basketball too, somethin’ about “team transitions” and “challenges.” Sounds like this young man does a lot! Basketball is a tough game, all that runnin’ and jumpin’. But seein’ as he’s an athlete, I guess it make sense he is involved with many sports.
I heard tell of another young fella, Sheezel his name was. Broke some kinda record, they say. Most “disposals” ever. Sounds like he threw a lotta things away! And he won some “Rising Star” award. Well, good for him. Makes me think about this Davon fella, wonderin’ if he’s got any awards. They didn’t say nothin’ about it, but maybe he does. Or maybe he will. He’s young yet, got plenty of time to win all sorts of things, if that’s what he wants.
Anyways, back to Davon Jacobs. Seems like he’s a busy boy, this football and maybe basketball. Good for him, keepin’ busy. Keeps you outta trouble, that’s what I always say. And all these folks keepin’ track of his stats, well, that means he must be pretty good, right? Folks don’t go around countin’ numbers for just anybody. So yeah, Davon Jacobs, sounds like a good, strong young man, doin’ his thing. Hope he keeps at it, whatever it is.
It ain’t easy bein’ young these days, I tell ya. So much pressure to be the best, to have the most numbers, to win all the awards. But if this Davon fella just keeps his head down and works hard, he’ll be alright. Just like we all did back in my day. We didn’t have no fancy websites or statistics, but we worked hard and we made somethin’ of ourselves. And that’s all that really matters, ain’t it? Workin’ hard and doin’ your best. That’s the ticket, that’s it.
So yeah, Davon Jacobs, Wayne fella, football player, maybe basketball too. Sounds like a good kid. Hope he goes far, makes his folks proud. That’s all any of us want, really, to make our folks proud. And maybe win a few games along the way, eh? That wouldn’t hurt none neither.
