Alright, so I wanted to figure out the Lakers’ depth chart, you know, see who’s playing where and all that. It’s always changing, so I figured I’d make my own little record of it.

First, I hit up the internet. Just did some basic searching to get the latest roster updates. You gotta know who’s even on the team before you can figure out their positions, right?
Then, I started listing out the players. I put them in a simple list, nothing fancy. Just their names, one after another.
Breaking It Down by Position
Next, I started organizing them by their usual positions. This part took a little more digging. Had to check out some game summaries and articles to see who was playing where most recently.
- Point Guards: Started with the obvious ones, the guys who are known for handling the ball.
- Shooting Guards: Then the players who usually play off the ball, known for their shooting.
- Small Forwards: The versatile guys, you know, the ones who can do a bit of everything.
- Power Forwards: Usually bigger, stronger players who focus on rebounding and scoring inside.
- Centers: The big guys, the ones who protect the rim and battle it out in the paint.
I wrote down each player under the position I thought they fit best, based on what I’d found.
Making Adjustments
Now, this is where it got tricky. Basketball’s fluid, right? Players switch positions all the time. So I had to make some notes about guys who could play multiple spots. Like, “This guy can play both guard positions,” or “This guy can swing between forward and center.”

I jotted down those notes next to the player’s name, just to remind myself of their versatility.
Then I read some box scores of recent game to make sure I did not get wrong.
The Finished Product (For Now!)
Finally, I had a depth chart! It wasn’t perfect, and I knew it would probably change again soon. But it was my depth chart, based on what I’d researched. And it gave me a pretty good idea of how the Lakers were lining up.
It’s a work in progress, though. I’ll keep updating it as the season goes on and things change. That’s the fun of it, I guess!
