Okay, so I saw this “Tyreek Hill 40” thing trending and I was like, “What’s the big deal?” I mean, I know the guy’s fast, but I wanted to see if I could even come close to understanding his speed. Spoiler alert: I can’t. But, here’s how I tried to wrap my head around it.
My “Experiment” (If You Can Call It That)
First, I found a football field. Luckily, my local park has one. It wasn’t exactly NFL regulation, but hey, it had lines.
Then, I needed a timer. My phone’s stopwatch would do the trick. No fancy laser timing system for this guy.
Next, the hard part: actually running. I stretched a bit, probably not enough, and lined up at the “goal line” (it was more like a patch of slightly less dead grass).
I took off, my legs pumping, arms flailing… and I felt slow. Like, really slow. I pushed myself as hard as I could, pretending I was chasing a… well, I don’t know, a really fast pizza delivery guy?
- Then My phone’s stopwatch would be good enough.
I crossed the 40-yard line, wheezing and feeling like my lungs were about to explode. I fumbled for my phone and stopped the timer.
The Results (and the Humiliation)
My time? Let’s just say it was way more than double Tyreek’s 4.29 * was closer to double, I have tried my best.
So, what did I learn? Tyreek Hill is a freak of nature. My pathetic attempt to run the 40 just confirmed that. I have a newfound respect for his speed, and I’ll stick to watching him on TV instead of trying to emulate him on the field. My body thanks me.
I think that It is amazing!
