Okay, so I caught that Golden State Warriors versus Phoenix Suns game the other night, or maybe it was a replay, doesn’t matter. Point is, afterwards, I got this itch, you know? Like, who really pulled their weight and who kinda didn’t? You see the final score, sure, but I wanted the nitty-gritty on the players themselves.

So, what I did was, I sat down with my tablet later on. First thing, just opened up a browser. Typed in something simple like “Warriors Suns game stats”. You get a ton of results, right? Some are just headlines, some want you to sign up for stuff. Annoying. I skipped past those.
I poked around a couple of the big sports sites. Had to find the actual box score, not just the summary. Clicked here, scrolled there. Some layouts are just messy, makes it hard to just see the plain numbers. Finally landed on a page that looked decent, pretty straightforward.
Digging into the Numbers
Then the real part started. I wasn’t doing like, super deep analysis, just wanted a feel for the key guys. I started looking at the main dudes, you know, the big names for both teams. Took out a notepad, old school style, yeah.
I jotted down points, rebounds, assists, the usual stuff. For Golden State, obviously checking Curry’s numbers, see if he went off. Then looked at Klay, Draymond, the other starters. Same thing for Phoenix – Booker, Durant, Beal, how’d they match up?
It took a little time just comparing them side-by-side. I made some quick notes like:

- Points: Who led the scoring? Was it close between the top guys?
- Shooting: Noticed who was efficient and who was maybe chucking up bricks. That FG% tells a story sometimes.
- Rebounds: Who was crashing the boards? Always interesting to see which guards get involved there too.
- Assists: Who was moving the ball, getting others involved?
- Bench?: Did anyone unexpected contribute off the bench? Sometimes that’s the difference maker.
Didn’t spend hours on it, but enough to get a clearer picture than just watching the highlights or seeing the final score. It’s kinda satisfying just laying out the basic numbers yourself instead of just reading someone else’s take on it.
So yeah, that was my little project. Just digging into the player stats for that Warriors-Suns game because I was curious. Helped me see the game a bit differently after the fact. Simple stuff, but kinda interesting to do yourself.
