Alright, so I got curious the other day about NBA players and how much they bounce around the league. I mean, you see some guys stick with one team their whole career, and others… well, they rack up the jerseys. So, I decided to dig in and find out which players have played for the most teams. I started with a simple question: who’s played for five teams?

Getting My Hands Dirty with the Data
First, I needed a place to start. I didn’t want to just randomly guess, so I figured the best approach was to find a reliable source of NBA player data. I knew there must be a simple place to get all players’ team career details.
I began to compile lists manually. You know, old-school style. I started jotting down names that popped into my head, guys I remembered playing for a bunch of different teams. Then I would verify, team by team, if my hunches were correct.
Putting It All Together
After I felt the list I compiled had been verfied, I started organizing my notes. I wanted a clear, easy-to-read list. I also started marking down how many years each player spent with each franchise. It was cool to see the different paths these guys took.
- Player 1:Team A (Years), Team B (Years), Team C (Years), Team D (Years), Team E (Years)
- Player 2:Team A (Years), Team B (Years), Team C (Years), Team D (Years), Team E (Years)
- Player 3:Team A (Years), Team B (Years), Team C (Years), Team D (Years), Team E(Years)
It’s kind of crazy to see how some players become journeymen, playing for so many different organizations. Makes you appreciate the guys who stick with one team even more, right?
It was a fun little project, and it definitely gave me a new perspective on NBA careers!
