Okay, so I saw this “witb lydia ko 2024” thing trending and thought, “What’s the big deal?” I mean, I’ve messed around with golf clubs before, but I’m no expert. Anyway, I got curious and decided to give it a shot, you know, just to see what all the fuss was about.
Getting Started
First things first, I didn’t even know what “witb” stood for. Turns out it’s “What’s In The Bag”. Makes sense, I guess. So, I dug up my old golf bag from the garage. It was dusty and probably hadn’t been opened in years. Inside, I found a mix of clubs I’d picked up here and there – some hand-me-downs, a couple I bought on a whim. Definitely not a professional setup.
Figuring Out Lydia’s Gear
Next, I spent a good chunk of time online trying to figure out what Lydia Ko actually uses. There were tons of articles and videos. I jotted down the names of her clubs – driver, woods, irons, wedges, putter. It was like learning a new language! I also noticed the specific models and brands she uses. I will not use any brand names. Let’s keep it general.
Comparing My Clubs
This was the fun part. I laid out my clubs next to the list of Lydia’s. Let’s just say my collection looked pretty sad in comparison. My driver was ancient, and I only had a couple of mismatched irons. I didn’t even have a proper sand wedge! But hey, it was a start.
Hitting the Range
I headed to the local driving range, feeling a bit self-conscious. Everyone else seemed to know what they were doing. I started with my driver, trying to mimic Lydia’s swing as best I could. It was rough. I sliced a few, hooked a couple, and mostly just made a lot of noise.
Then I moved on to the irons. Again, not pretty. I chunked some shots, topped others. It was clear I had a long way to go. But I have to say, it was kind of fun, even though I was terrible.
Putting Practice
The putting green was a little less intimidating. I practiced my strokes, trying to get a feel for the speed and distance. I even managed to sink a few long putts, which felt amazing.
What I Learned

Golf is hard! It looks so easy when the pros do it. It’s not.

Gear matters. I mean, I’m sure good technique is more important, but having the right clubs definitely makes a difference.

It’s actually kind of fun. Even though I was bad, I enjoyed the challenge.
Moving Forward
So, that’s my “witb lydia ko 2024” experience. I’m not going to be winning any tournaments anytime soon. But I might actually keep practicing. I even thought about getting a few new clubs. Maybe not a whole set like Lydia’s, but a decent wedge would be nice.
It was a fun little experiment. Made me appreciate the skill of professional golfers even more. And who knows, maybe one day I’ll be able to hit a golf ball straight. A guy can dream, right?
