Well, let me tell you, that Kansas City Royals versus Baltimore Orioles game was somethin’ else. I seen a lot of baseball in my days, but this one, this one was a real nail-biter.
Them Royals, they got some good players, I tell ya. And them Orioles, they ain’t no slouches either. It was a real good match, went back and forth like a seesaw.
Kansas City Royals Players
That Bobby Witt Jr., he’s a young fella, but he sure can hit that ball. He’s fast too, like a rabbit runnin’ from a fox. He got that big hit that won ’em the game, I reckon. Reminds me of that George Brett, remember him? He was with the Royals long time ago, hit over 3,000 hits. That’s a lot of hits, let me tell you.
- Bobby Witt Jr. – He’s the one to watch, I’m tellin’ ya.
- Salvador Perez – He’s a good catcher, catches everything.
- Vinnie Pasquantino – He can hit, that’s for sure. Hits it a mile.
They got some other good ones too, but I can’t recall all their names right now. My memory ain’t what it used to be. But they all played good, played their hearts out. That’s what counts, right? You gotta give it your all, just like chores on the farm.
Baltimore Orioles Players
Now, them Orioles, they got some good players too. That Adley Rutschman, he’s a good catcher. And that Gunnar Henderson, he’s a strong boy, hits the ball hard. And they got that Mullins fella, he’s fast, runs like the wind.
- Adley Rutschman – He’s a wall behind that plate, tough as nails.
- Gunnar Henderson – He’s got power, hits it to the moon.
- Cedric Mullins – He can fly around them bases, like a roadrunner.
- Anthony Santander – When he makes contact, the ball goes far.
They got a bunch of others, can’t remember all their names either. But they all played good too. It was a close one, right down to the wire. I was on the edge of my seat, chewin’ my nails. You’d think I was watchin’ one of them soap operas, the way I was carryin’ on!
The Game, Oh Boy!
It was a low-scoring game, 2-1. Not a lot of runs, but plenty of excitement. Lots of good pitches, lots of good hits. Them fielders, they were runnin’ all over the place, catchin’ them fly balls. It was somethin’ to see, I tell ya.
That Witt boy, he got the big hit in the sixth inning, drove in the winning run. He did it two times! He’s a good one, that one. He’s gonna be a star, you just watch.
Kansas City Royals vs Baltimore Orioles, that’s a game I won’t soon forget. It was a good one, a real good one. Makes me wish I was young again, out there playin’ ball myself. But these old bones ain’t what they used to be.
I heard the Orioles played the Royals a bunch this year, won more than they lost. But in this game, the Royals, they came out on top. That’s baseball for ya, you never know what’s gonna happen.
They played that game in Baltimore, at that Camden Yards. It’s a nice park, I hear. Lots of folks there, almost 40,000 people! That’s a lot of people. They must have been yellin’ and screamin’ somethin’ fierce. Makes me miss the times we went down to the county fair to watch the ball games back home.
The whole game took about 3 hours. That’s a long time, but it went by fast, you know? When you’re havin’ fun, time just flies by like a bird in the sky. I bet those players were tired though, runnin’ around for that long. It takes a lot out of ya, playin’ that game. You gotta be in good shape, just like workin’ on the farm.
Well, I reckon that’s about all I got to say about that Kansas City Royals vs Baltimore Orioles game. It was a good one, a real thriller. I’m glad I got to see it. Makes me proud to be a baseball fan, even if my team ain’t playin’.
