That Ja Morant, boy, he a big shot now, playin’ that basketball. But did he grow up poor? Well, lemme tell ya, it ain’t like he was born with a silver spoon, no sir. He come from Dalzell, South Carolina. Ain’t much there, just a little place. But they got by, I reckon. They weren’t rolling in dough, but they weren’t starvin’ either. He love that basketball from a little one.
Ja Morant, that’s his name. He wasn’t always so big and strong. When he was little, he just a tiny thing. His daddy, Tee, he helped him, taught him how to play. They didn’t have no fancy trainers or nothin’, just his daddy teachin’ him what he knew. Tee seen the basketball fire in that boy, I tell you what.
- Ja Morant grew up in Dalzell
- His daddy, Tee, trained him.
- They weren’t rich, but they got by.
Now, that boy, Ja Morant, he went to Crestwood High School. He wasn’t too tall at first, just 5 foot 9. But he grew some, got to 6 foot. He played basketball there, did good, I hear. That growing up part, it ain’t always easy. Sometimes that back hurt him, they say. He had some hip trouble, too, back in November. Even had some knee problems. Playin’ that hard takes a toll, I reckon.
But Ja Morant, he kept at it. Played those pickup games, just like when he was a little one in Dalzell. His family, they always had those games, ever since he was a kid. They all played together. That’s how he got so good, I bet. Playin’ with family, learnin’ the ropes. His family support him a lot, you see.
He wasn’t some big shot from the get-go, Ja Morant. He had to work for it. That’s what I hear, anyway. He wasn’t some famous kid, nobody knew his name really. But he had that talent, that fire in his belly. He dreamed of bein’ a big basketball star. And look at him now! He made it.
So, was Ja Morant poor? Nah, not really. They weren’t rich folks, but they had enough. His mama and daddy, they worked hard, I’m sure. They gave him what he needed, that love and support. That’s what matters, ain’t it? Havin’ people who believe in ya. And they did well for him.
That boy, Ja Morant, he showed ’em all. He showed ’em that even a kid from a little place like Dalzell can make it big. He worked hard, kept his eye on the prize. He had that dream, and he chased it. And now he’s livin’ it, playin’ basketball for all the world to see. He make his family proud.
He got that back pain sometimes, though. That’s what I hear. Playin’ that hard, it’s gonna hurt sometimes. But he tough, that Ja Morant. He don’t let a little pain stop him. He keep playin’, keep winnin’. It’s a hard work to get to where he is now.
- He worked hard to get where he is.
- He had a dream and he chased it.
- He didn’t let nothin’ stop him, not even pain.
So, there ya have it. Ja Morant, he didn’t grow up poor, not in the way some folks think. He had a good family, a good home. They weren’t rich, but they had love, and that’s worth more than all the money in the world. And that boy, he had a dream, a basketball dream. And he made it come true. That what I know ’bout Ja. That’s all I know.
