Alright, let’s talk about this Ecuador and Guatemala soccer match, or football as some folks call it. I ain’t no expert, mind you, just a regular person trying to make sense of it all.
So, it seems like these two teams, Ecuador and Guatemala, they had themselves a game on March 21st, or maybe it was the 22nd, depends on who you ask. Seems like it was kinda late at night, or maybe real early in the mornin’, around 12:30 AM, somethin’ like that. They played in a place called Red Bull Arena, over in the USA. Don’t know much about that place, but I reckon it’s big enough for a good ol’ soccer match.
Now, from what I hear, Ecuador won. Beat Guatemala 2-0, they did. Good for them, I guess. Folks are sayin’ it was a friendly game, you know, not one of them big important ones. Just a practice match, like. Still, a win’s a win, ain’t it? Ecuador folks must be happy.
- Match Date: March 21 or 22, 2024
- Time: Around 12:30 AM
- Location: Red Bull Arena, USA
- Result: Ecuador 2 – Guatemala 0
- Type of Match: International Friendly
I saw somethin’ about “UTC” time, whatever that is. Sounds fancy. They say the game started at 00:30 UTC. All these times and dates, makes my head spin. Can’t they just say, “last night” or “this mornin’?” Makes it a whole lot easier for folks like me.
They’re callin’ it an “International Friendly Game”. Friendly, huh? I bet those fellas were still runnin’ and kickin’ hard, friendly or not. Nobody wants to lose, no matter what kind of game it is. And this wasn’t the first time these two teams played. Seems like they done this before, sometime this season. Ecuador and Guatemala, goin’ at it again.
Some folks keep track of all sorts of things. Like, how many minutes the referee added at the end, somethin’ called “compensation time.” Two minutes, they say. Two minutes of extra runnin’ around. I guess that’s important to some folks. And there’s all this talk about “stats” and “highlights”. I ain’t got time for that. Just tell me who won, and that’s good enough for me.
There was a bunch of numbers and words I didn’t understand, like “box score” and “odds” and “play-by-play”. Too much information, if you ask me. And folks keep yellin’ about “Eurosport” and “Soccerway”. Sounds like fancy TV channels or somethin’. I just watch the game on the regular TV, if I watch it at all. Most of the time, I’m too busy with other things.
Ecuador vs Guatemala, that’s what they keep sayin’. Sounds important, but it’s just a game, when you get right down to it. Two teams, kickin’ a ball around, tryin’ to score more goals than the other. That’s it. Simple as that.
I heard some fella talkin’ ’bout this game being part of the “Int. Friendly Games.” That’s just a fancy way of sayin’ it’s a practice game, right? Nothin’ too serious. But I guess it helps the teams get ready for the bigger games, the ones that really matter. Like them World Cup games, or whatever they call ’em. Them are the important ones, the ones everyone gets all worked up about.
And there were some names mentioned, too. L. Brown, J. Garner, L. Arroyo… I reckon they’re players, or maybe coaches. Don’t know ’em from Adam. Just fellas kickin’ a ball, far as I’m concerned. Probably good at what they do, though, if folks are talkin’ about ’em.
So, that’s the story as far as I can tell. Ecuador beat Guatemala, 2-0, in a friendly game. Happened late at night, or early in the mornin’, over in the USA. Nothin’ too complicated, nothin’ too fancy. Just a good ol’ soccer match. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go tend to my chickens.
And one more thing, it seems like there’s about 23 folks watchin’ the game at that big place, Red Bull Arena. That don’t sound like a lot of people to me. Maybe they were countin’ wrong, or maybe it wasn’t that big of a game after all. Who knows?
