Alright, let’s talk about this fella, Chuck Martin. Now, I ain’t no fancy writer, just tellin’ it like it is, you know? Heard folks callin’ him crazy, imagine that!
Who is this Chuck Martin fella, anyway?
Well, from what I gather, this Chuck Martin, seems he’s a football coach, a pretty good one at that. Folks say he took a pay cut to go coach them Miami RedHawks back in 2014. Now, I ain’t understandin’ why someone would take less money, but I guess he had his reasons. Maybe he just really liked them RedHawks, who knows?
This man, Chuck Martin, he weren’t always with them Miami RedHawks, though. Before that, he was coachin’ at some place called Grand Valley State. And let me tell you, he did good there. Real good. They say he won a whole bunch of games in a row, somethin’ like 48 regular season games! That’s a lot of winnin’, even I can figure that out. He also won somethin’ called the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, GLIAC, for short. Won that 45 times straight they say. Folks must’ve been real proud of him there.

Now, I hear tell he’s been coachin’ offense and defense both, before he went to Miami. He was what they call an “offensive coordinator” and a “quarterbacks coach” at some place called Notre Dame. Sounds fancy, don’t it? But all that just means he knows a lot about football, I reckon.
Coaching at Miami
So, he goes to Miami, and folks are callin’ him crazy, remember? But seems like he’s doin’ alright there too. Heard they even gave him a contract extension for five more years! They must like him, keepin’ him around that long. And they talkin’ about his 60th victory now. That’s a lot of games won. This Chuck Martin, he must be somethin’ special. I ain’t know much about this football, but even I know winnin’ is good. Losin’ ain’t no fun.
More than Just a Football Coach?
Now, hold on a minute, there’s another Chuck Martin, it seems. This one ain’t no football coach, but a fella who writes books and knows all about them fancy computers and such. Says he’s a “futurist” and a “leader in emerging digital technologies.” Don’t ask me what all that means, sounds like a whole lotta mumbo jumbo to me. This Chuck Martin, he’s a New York Times bestselling author, so I guess he’s doin’ somethin’ right.
This other Chuck Martin, the book writer, was born in Puerto Rico. They called him “Che” when he was a young’un. Moved to New York with his family, so I hear. Born January 8th, though I don’t know which year. Two different Chuck Martins, both successful in their own way, I guess. One with the football, one with the books. Small world, ain’t it?
So there you have it, what I know about this Chuck Martin, or maybe these Chuck Martins. One’s a football coach, winnin’ games and gettin’ contract extensions. The other one’s writin’ books and talkin’ about the future and computers. Both of ‘em seem to be doin’ pretty good for themselves, if you ask me. And that’s all there is to it, plain and simple.
Chuck Martin, a name to remember, it seems, whether you like football or books. Now, I gotta go, got chores to do. Can’t be sittin’ around talkin’ ’bout Chuck all day. But you remember what I told you, he’s a winner, that Chuck Martin.
