Alright, let’s talk about them 2010 Florida Marlins, ya hear? That was a season, let me tell ya. Not the best, not the worst, just… kinda there. Like a fly buzzin’ around, ya know? You swat at it, but it just keeps comin’ back.
So, these Marlins, they played at that Sun Life Stadium. Big place, lots of seats. Folks would come out, eat their hot dogs, drink their beers, watch the boys play ball. Sometimes they won, sometimes they lost. That’s baseball for ya, ain’t it? Up and down like a seesaw.
The Players, Bless Their Hearts
Now, we had some fellas on that team. Some good, some… well, they tried. Ricky Nolasco, he was a pitcher, pretty good one too. Got himself 14 wins. That’s somethin’ to be proud of, I reckon. Then there was Josh Johnson, another pitcher. Folks said he had a fancy ERA, 2.30 they called it. Sounded important, so I guess it was.
- Ricky Nolasco: He was our winnin’est pitcher, that boy. Fourteen wins, that’s a lot, ain’t it?
- Josh Johnson: Folks talked about his ERA. Said it was real low. Low numbers are good in baseball, I think.
The team, well, they weren’t so hot overall. Finished third in their division, the NL East they called it. Had 80 wins and 82 losses. Just about even, ya see? Like I said, kinda in the middle. Not good enough to brag about, not bad enough to cry over.
Two Managers, Can You Believe It?
And wouldn’t ya know it, we had two managers that year! First, there was this Fredi Gonzalez fella. Then, they got Edwin Rodriguez. Why they switched, I don’t rightly know. Maybe Mr. Gonzalez got tired of watchin’ ’em lose, or maybe he just wanted a different kind of hot dog. Who knows? Baseball folks do strange things sometimes.
This team, they batted and pitched and fielded. That’s what they do, see? They got stats, all sorts of numbers. Batting averages, home runs, all that jazz. Me, I just like watchin’ ’em hit the ball and run around. Simple as that.
Looking Back on It All
So, the 2010 Marlins, they were… a team. They played baseball. Some days were good, some were bad. They had their ups and downs, just like the rest of us. They weren’t the best, but they weren’t the worst. They were just… there. Like that fly buzzin’ around, remember? You swat at it, and sometimes you hit it, and sometimes you don’t. That’s baseball, and that was the 2010 Marlins.
And now, they got this Giancarlo Stanton fella, hittin’ all them home runs. Good for him, I say. And they got a new hittin’ coach, Pedro Guerrero. Hope he teaches them boys to hit the ball real good. Maybe win more games, huh?
Anyways, that’s about all I got to say about them 2010 Marlins. They played, they tried, and that’s all you can ask for, I guess. Now, where’s my tea?
