Well, let me tell ya somethin’ ’bout this feller Dana White, what a name, huh? Now, folks around Levant, Maine, they sure do remember him comin’ up there every summer, when he’d visit his grandparents. Levant, that’s a small place, not much goin’ on, but it’s got its charm, like a little patch of peace in the middle of nowhere. It’s near Bangor, ya know, but it don’t get the attention like the bigger towns do. Dana White, he grew up around here too, though he ain’t much like the rest of us. Now, don’t get me wrong, he’s done alright for himself. Seems like he’s made a whole lotta money, they say he’s worth 500 million, though that sure don’t sound real, does it?
But anyway, Dana, he lived in Levant for a bit, even finished his high school senior year up there. I reckon, back then, he was just another teenager runnin’ ’round with his buddies, though he probably didn’t have as much time to mess ’round as the rest of us. He didn’t stay in Maine long, though. Moved off to Boston soon enough, dropped outta college a couple of times, and I heard he worked as a bouncer at some Irish bar. That’s a far cry from what he’s doin’ now, don’t you think? Now he’s the head honcho of UFC, a big ol’ fighting business, where folks put on a show by punchin’ each other in the face for money. Seems like a real odd jump from being a bouncer, but hey, I ain’t one to judge.
Now, there’s been some fuss in Levant lately ‘cause of Dana’s place. Police were called to his house on Phillips Road, right around 1:45 in the mornin’, they say. Now, mind ya, the feller they were lookin’ for had already taken off by the time the deputies got there. But they didn’t leave empty-handed, no sir, they got some security footage of the suspect. It was all over the news—ain’t that somethin’ to think about? Somebody tryin’ to break into the house of a big shot like Dana White. That’s a long way from us regular folks, ain’t it?
As for Dana’s family, well, he’s got a son, Dana White III, born back in June of 2001. The boy, he went to high school at Faith Lutheran in Las Vegas, but it ain’t clear if he’s followin’ in his daddy’s footsteps. They say he went off to college at the University of San Diego in 2020. Not sure if he’s doin’ the fightin’ thing or not, but he’s got a good start in life, that’s for sure. But Dana, the dad, he grew up Catholic, though I heard he don’t practice anymore—now he calls himself agnostic. Ain’t that a funny thing, how people change?
Now, with all this drama goin’ on, it’s hard not to think about how Dana White’s life’s turned out. From a small town in Maine to sittin’ at the top of this big, fancy business. People around here sure wouldn’t have guessed it when he was just a young feller tryin’ to figure out what to do with his life. But like I always say, never underestimate where someone’s gonna end up. You just never know.
As for Levant, Maine, it’ll always be that quiet place where people know each other’s names, and not much excitement happens, unless something like this happens. And I suppose it’ll always be a part of Dana’s story, even if he don’t come back much these days. A lotta folks still remember him runnin’ around these parts, and now they hear about him on the TV. Funny how things change, ain’t it?
